Trumpeter-composer Terumasa Hino is a musical dynamo revered as a jazz elder statesman in his native Japan. He worked steadily in New York starting in the mid-1970s\, playing and recording in the bands of saxophonists Davie Liebman and Jackie McLean\, and drummer Elvin Jones\, amoung others. This high-octane\, hard-bop player's trumpet mastery reflects his range\, playfulness and enthusiasm for the music. This event is free for CCJS members. Non member tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door.
