DESCRIPTION:We will be conducting a Nautical Knowledge "101" Boating Education Class in Englewood. This is an all inclusive 16 class that will set the foundation for making you Brilliant on the Basics for recreational boat operations. \n\n \nNautical Knowledge "101" Boating Education Class\n\nAges 17 And Up\n\nPrice: $119.00\n\n(Includes the use of charts and your own student manual for note taking and future quick reference).\n\n** At the conclusion of each Nautical Knowledge "101" Class we can administer you the Florida Boating Safety Course at no charge\, which will earn you your Florida Boating Safety Education ID Card (required in Florida if born after Jan 1\, 1988)**\n\nThis course is a blended\, lecture-based\, hands-on 16 hour course taught on weekends (or on any day for private classes\, please call for details). You can follow up this course with Course #3 "On the Water Training" on your boat or on a boat you rent where you can apply theory to practice.\n\nThe Nautical Knowledge "101" class includes both lectures and hands-on training and covers:\n\na. Boat familiarization and terminology\n\nb. Basic overview of rules of the nautical road\n\nc. Buoy and daymarker training including intracoastal waterway familiarization\n\nd. Chart familiarization\n\ne. Float plan familiarization and use\n\nf. Use of GPS and depth sounder and your magnetic compass\n\ng. Boat handling\, including general navigation training to leave the dock and arrive at the\n\ndock without panicking. Basic line handling and securing a boat to a cleat\n\nh. Anchoring preparation and anchoring\, includes best anchoring locations and bottoms\n\nI. Man Overboard actions\n\nj. Lifejacket familiarization and Florida Law requirements\n\nk. Trailering your boat including preps to launch and recover from a public boat launch\n\nl. Basic engine and trailer maintenance and troubleshooting\n\nm.
